On The Robot:

 

DESIGN

The design team is responsible for taking the team's game strategy to create a 3D model using SOLIDWORKS®. The design team brainstorms, visualizes, prototypes, and models the entire robot before handing it over to the build team.

 

BUILD

The build team manufactures the modeled parts developed by the design team. They build prototypes of the robot and then using a variety of materials and machines they create the end product.

 

ELECTRICAL

The electrical team is a sub-team of the build team. They wire the robot and work closely with the programming team to deliver a working bot.

 

PROGRAMMING

The programming team turns the machined robot parts into a moving robot. They use Java to program the robot to do the functions that are initially designed. They work closely with design and electrical.

 

Robot Interaction:

 

DRIVE

The drive team drives the robot at our competition and events. They test the controls of the robot to check reliability. They also work with design to come up with a strategy for the year's game.

 

SCOUTING

 

 

 

 

 

The scouting team is in charge of scouting the different teams at robotics competitions and creates data from that to help us decide who we want on our alliance if we are able to do that. They also create scouting sheets for going around to other team's pits, talk to them about how they run their team, and find out what works for them. We use this to see if we could change things on our team and see if it works.

 

Promoting our Team:

 

MEDIA

The media team creates the amazing pictures on the home page, as well as all promotional materials for the team. They create videos to recap our build season and outreach events and they help create visuals such as the Santa Claus Parade float. They create safety videos for the shop and documenting our time at competitions and produce our Chairman's video. The media team is also in charge of our social media updates on Twitter and Facebook as well as updating the website.

 

OUTREACH

The outreach team works on spreading FIRST throughout and beyond our community. They are in charge of planning the team's outreach events.

 

AWARDS

The awards team is responsible for gathering information about our team from the different sub-teams, and figure out what awards our team should go for at competitions. They are also responsible for creating our Chairman's Award presentation, this award is the most prestigious in FIRST. It is given to the team that does lot's of outreach and has a great team environment.

 

BUSINESS

The business team is in charge of our team's budget. They manage our sponsorship proposals, as well as our expenses for the year. They are very important when it comes to competition because they are in charge of making sure we have buses and have a hotel to stay at if we need to.
